Calendar: Vote on Kenyan Constitution

August 4, 2010

Vote on Kenyan Constitution

In Kenya, Africa on this date the country will be voting on its first national constitution since gaining its independance from England in the 1960's.  There are sections of this constitution that are very controversial; some allowing legal abortion, and allowing many opportunities for crooked officials to gain power. There has already been disturbances because of this constitution, and many anticipate more disturbance on the 4th. Please keep the nation of Kenya in your prayers.  Pray for a peaceful vote and that the people would wisely vote in a way that pleases God.

Also, because of these controversial votes, the Kenyan government has asked that all the schools are closed before the 4th. As a result, all of the final exams are now rushed and pushed together.  This gives the children more to study for at once and less time to study for it.  Please pray for the children as they work hard to do well.
